Professional Cookery (NVQ 4)

5 months in the school & six months on the job training in a star class hotel

Passion for cooking and culinary art is a prime requirement to follow this course. On completion of the course, students are assigned to work in a Kitchen Department of a hotel as a Trainee Cook. In addition to theory knowledge, the students have the opportunity of working practices in a modern and fully equipped kitchen available within the institute premises.

Kitchen Department is considered as a production department of the hotel. The main functions are storing and preparing food, juices, pastry items, salads, desserts, etc., to please the guests by producing a wide array of choices.

Entry requirements are G.C.E. Ordinary Level.

Food & Beverage Operations (NVQ 4)

5 months in the school & six months on the job training in a star class hotel

Being service-oriented and a pleasing personality is found important to follow this course.
On completion of the course, students are assigned to work in a Food & Beverage Department of a hotel as a Trainee Restaurant Steward or a Trainee Bar Steward. In addition to theory knowledge, the students have the opportunity of working practices in the Restaurant and a Mocktail Bar available within the institute premises.

Further, the students are assigned to neighboring hotels to work practically for Banquets and Special Functions.

Food & Beverage Department is responsible for providing a high quality of service to guests in serving food and beverage at the hotel while maintaining efficient customer care. The operation of restaurants, bars, banquet halls, conference rooms, entertainment areas are some of the responsibilities of this department.

Entry requirements are G.C.E. Ordinary Level.

Hotel Housekeeping (NVQ 3)

5 months in the school & six months on the job training in a star class hotel

A close eye for cleaning and tidiness is important to follow this course. On completion of the course, students are assigned to work in a Housekeeping Department of a hotel as a Trainee Room Attendant or a Public Area Attendant. In addition to theory knowledge, the students have the opportunity of practicing the practical segments in 2 mock-up rooms available within institute premises.

Housekeeping is an operational department of the hotel. Cleanliness and maintenance of rooms and public areas, operation of laundry, linen room, tailor room, uniform room, flower room, minibar and looking into guest day to day necessities are some of the responsibilities of this department.

Front Office Operations (NVQ 4)

5 months in the school & six months on the job training in a star class hotel

Good English communication skills and personal appearance is important to follow this course. On completion of the course, students are assigned to work in a Front Office Department of a hotel as Trainee Receptionists. In addition to theory knowledge, the students are provided with practical training at neighboring hotels as an extra benefit.

The Front Office acts as the public face of the hotel. Greetings and checking-in guests, providing assistance to guests in all concerns, Reserving guest accommodation and looking into their comfort, maintaining guest accounts are some of the responsibilities of this department.
